Listed below are just 3 wedding invitation hints every couple should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Date: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, ensure that you have your wedding venue and date supported, to avoid shifting all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure that your guests can contact you by telephone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts can help you plan your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards to your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them along with your wedding invitations will help save you money and time.

After spending a few months working on your own mind, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to learn about those paper goods. But before you go into the post office to send your invitations out, there are a few major thing that you need to consider that may have never crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are five steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not only for good looks.

While putting tissue paper between the layers of your stationery suite can boost your costs, in addition, it helps prevent the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together because they make their way via the email. When it’s not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

As a result of strange form, square envelopes require more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a massive monetary difference (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the size) you can easily cut a couple of additional bucks by deciding on a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re looking for different ways to save on your invitations, then opt for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a conventional mail-in response card, since the price of a postcard stamp is under a standard stamp.

3. Never lick the glue to shut your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your precious invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes by using adhesive or some other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t only hard on your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t guarantee the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, add a sticker or piece of washi tape, but don’t rely on those things as the main closure method. They can fall off or grab on other things during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra peace of mind (and to avoid risking your invitations having to combat the components), never lose them off in a street-side mailbox. Should you flip them to someone in the post office right, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you can ensure you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp to the writing of the speeches. This is an especially important step if you are using vintage stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Instead of letting the post office run the invites via a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the top right corner and may harm the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they’ll use a special ink stamp to indicate your invitation, and they will type it by hand, reducing the risk of this harm. While some post offices refuse to try it, most are flexible if you pop during a slow moment.
