Here are just 3 wedding invitation hints every couple should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, make sure you have your wedding site and date confirmed, to avoid shifting all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure that your guests can contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts will help you plan your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them with your wedding invitations will save you money and time.

After having a few months working on your mind, you probably feel like you know what there is to learn about those paper goods. However, before you go to the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a few major thing that you want to consider that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are a few things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not only for great looks.

Whilst placing tissue paper between the layers of the stationery package may boost your prices, in addition, it can help stop the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink onto your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together because they make their way through the email. When it’s not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to ensure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal shape, square envelopes require more postage to mail. While this isn’t a huge monetary difference (about 20 cents per card, depending on the size) you can certainly cut a couple of additional dollars by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re looking for different ways to save your invitations, then elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even as the price of a postcard stamp is under a normal postage.

3. Never lick the adhesive to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your precious invitations open en route, fortify the final method on your envelopes using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard in your mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also does not ensure that the package will arrive in one piece. For a pretty touch, include a sticker or part of washi tape, but do not rely on these things as the most important closure approach. They can fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For additional peace of mind (and also to avoid risking your invitations needing to battle the elements), never lose them off in a street-side mailbox. If you hand them to a person at the post office directly, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you can make certain you’ve done everything properly, from the postage into the writing of the addresses. This is a particularly important step if you are using vintage stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Instead of allowing the post office run the invites via a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines in the top right corner and might damage the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they will use a special ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they’ll type it by hand, reducing the danger of this harm. While some post offices refuse to do this, most are flexible if you pop during a slow time.
