Here are just 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, make sure that you have your wedding venue and date confirmed, to avoid changing all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure that your guests can contact you by telephone, email, or article. Knowing your guests amounts will help you organize your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards to your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them with your wedding invitations will save you money and time.

After spending a few months working on your own mind, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to know about these paper products. However, before you go into the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a few major thing you want to take into account that may have never crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are a few steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not only for good looks.

Whilst placing tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may boost your costs, in addition, it helps stop the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together as they make their way through the email. When it is not too late, then add a bit of tissue paper to ensure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal shape, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a massive monetary gap (about 20 cents per card, depending on the size) you can easily cut a couple of additional dollars by opting for a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re looking for other ways to save your invitations, elect for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a traditional mail-in response card, as the cost of a postcard stamp is under a standard postage.

3. Never lick the glue to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your precious invites open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes by using glue or some other super strong adhesive. Licking is not just hard in your mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also does not ensure that the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, include a sticker or part of washi tape, but do not rely on these things as the main closure method. They could fall off or catch on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For additional reassurance (and also to avoid risking your invitations having to battle the elements), never drop them off at an street-side mailbox. Should you flip them to a person in the post office right, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you can ensure you’ve done everything properly, from the postage into the writing of the addresses. This is a particularly important step if you are using classic stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Instead of allowing the post office run the invitations via a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and may harm the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they’ll use a unique ink stamp to indicate your invitation, and they’ll sort it by hand, reducing the danger of this harm. While some post offices refuse to try it, most are flexible if you pop in during a slow time.
