Here are just 3 wedding invitation hints every few should follow to be sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your invitations or print them out, ensure you have your wedding venue and date supported, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure your guests can contact you by telephone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts will allow you to plan your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards to your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them along with your wedding invitations will help save you money and time.

After spending a few months working on your stationery, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to know about those paper goods. However, before you go into the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a few major thing that you want to consider that may have not crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are a few steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for great looks.

While placing tissue paper between the layers of the stationery suite can boost your prices, it also can help stop the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together because they make their way through the mail. When it’s not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to ensure your pretty paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a huge monetary gap (roughly 20 cents per cent, depending on the dimensions) you can easily cut a couple of extra bucks by deciding on a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save your invitations, elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even as the cost of a postcard is under a standard stamp.

3. Never lick on the adhesive to shut your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your precious invites open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking is not just hard on your own mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also does not ensure the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, add a sticker or part of washi tape, but do not rely on those things as the most important closure approach. They could fall off or catch on other things during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra reassurance (and to avoid risking your invitations needing to combat the components), never drop them off at a street-side mailbox. Should you flip them to someone in the post office right, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you can ensure you’ve done everything correctly, from the stamp into the writing of the speeches. This is an especially important step if you are using vintage stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Rather than letting the post office run the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the top right corner and might damage the envelope in the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means that they will use a special ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will type it by hand, lowering the risk of the damage. While some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic should you pop during a slow moment.
