Listed below are just 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Date: Before you order your own invitations or print them out, ensure that you have your wedding venue and date confirmed, to avoid shifting all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure your guests may contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests numbers will allow you to organize your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them with your wedding invitations can save you money and time.

After spending a few months working on your mind, you likely feel as if you know everything there is to learn about these paper products. However, before you head into the post office to ship out your invitations, there are a few significant thing you want to take into account that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are a few things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for great looks.

While placing tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may increase your prices, it also helps stop the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way via the email. When it’s not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. While this isn’t a huge monetary gap (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the dimensions) you can certainly cut a few extra dollars by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save on your invitations, then elect for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a traditional mail-in response card, even as the cost of a postcard is under a normal postage.

3. Never lick on the adhesive to shut your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your prized invites open en route, fortify the final method on your envelopes by using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard in your mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t guarantee that the package will arrive in 1 piece. To get a fairly touch, include a sticker or part of washi tape, however, do not rely on those things as the main closure method. They could fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra peace of mind (and to avoid risking your invitations having to battle the elements), never lose them off at an street-side mailbox. If you flip them to a person in the post office directly, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you can ensure you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp to the writing of the addresses. This is an especially important step if you are using vintage stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office conduct the invites via a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and might harm the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means that they’ll use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they’ll sort it by hand, lowering the danger of the damage. While some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop during a slow time.
