Here are 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Date: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, ensure you have your wedding venue and date supported, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure that your guests may contact you by phone, email, or article. Knowing your guests numbers can help you plan your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them with your wedding invitations can save you money and time.

After spending a few months working on your stationery, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to know about those paper goods. But before you go into the post office to send your invitations out, there are a couple of major thing you need to consider that may have not crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are a few things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for great looks.

While putting tissue paper between the layers of the stationery suite can boost your prices, it also helps stop the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink onto your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way through the email. If it’s not too late, then add a little tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal shape, square envelopes require more postage to mail. While this isn’t a massive monetary difference (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the dimensions) you can certainly cut a few extra dollars by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save on your invitations, then elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a traditional mail-in response card, since the price of a postcard is less than a normal postage.

3. Never lick on the adhesive to close your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your precious invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method in your envelopes by using glue or any other super strong adhesive. Licking is not just hard on your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t ensure the package will arrive in 1 piece. To get a pretty touch, add a sticker or piece of washi tape, but don’t rely on those things as the most important closure approach. They can fall off or catch on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra reassurance (and also to avoid risking your invitations having to combat the elements), never lose them off at a street-side mailbox. If you flip them to a person at the post office right, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to ensure you’ve done everything correctly, from the stamp to the composing of the addresses. This is an especially important step if you are using classic stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Instead of allowing the post office conduct the invitations via a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and might harm the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they’ll use a unique ink stamp to indicate your invitation, and they’ll sort it by hand, reducing the risk of the harm. Whenever some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop during a slow moment.
