Here are 3 wedding invitation tips every couple should follow to make sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, ensure you have your wedding site and date confirmed, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure your guests can contact you by telephone, email, or article. Knowing your guests numbers will allow you to organize your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them along with your wedding invitations can help save you time and money.

After having a couple of months working on your stationery, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to learn about those paper products. However, before you go to the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a few significant thing that you want to take into account that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are five things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts aren’t just for great looks.

While putting tissue paper between the layers of your stationery suite can boost your prices, it also helps prevent the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink onto your invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way via the email. When it is not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

As a result of strange form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a huge monetary difference (roughly 20 cents per card, depending on the size) you can easily cut a few extra dollars by opting for a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re looking for different ways to save on your invitations, elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a traditional mail-in response card, even since the price of a postcard is less than a normal stamp.

3. Never lick the glue to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your prized invites open en route, fortify the final method in your envelopes by using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard on your mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t ensure the package will arrive in one piece. To get a pretty touch, include a sticker or piece of washi tape, however, do not rely on those things as the most important closure approach. They could fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For additional reassurance (and to avoid risking your invitations needing to battle the components), never lose them off at a street-side mailbox. Should you hand them to someone in the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to make certain you’ve done everything correctly, from the postage into the writing of the speeches. This is an especially important step if you are using vintage stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Instead of letting the post office conduct the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and may harm the envelope in the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means that they will use a unique ink stamp to indicate your invitation, and they will sort it by hand, reducing the risk of this damage. While some post offices refuse to do this, most are flexible if you pop in during a slow moment.
