Here are 3 wedding invitation tips every couple should follow to be sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Date: Before you order your own invitations or print them out, make sure that you have your wedding venue and date confirmed, to avoid changing all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure that your guests can contact you by phone, email, or article. Knowing your guests numbers will help you plan your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards to your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them with your wedding invitations can help save you money and time.

After spending a couple of months working on your own mind, you probably feel like you know everything there is to learn about these paper products. But before you go into the post office to send out your invitations, there are a few significant thing that you need to take into account that may have never crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are a few things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts aren’t just for great looks.

Whilst putting tissue paper between the layers of the stationery suite can boost your prices, it also helps stop the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together as they make their way via the mail. When it’s not too late, then add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations need more postage.

As a result of strange shape, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a huge monetary difference (roughly 20 cents per card, depending on the size) you can certainly cut a couple of extra bucks by opting for a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save your invitations, opt for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a traditional mail-in response card, since the cost of a postcard stamp is under a normal postage.

3. Never lick the adhesive to shut your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your prized invitations open en route, fortify the final method in your envelopes by using glue or any other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard in your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t ensure the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, include a sticker or part of washi tape, however, do not rely on these things as the main closure method. They can fall off or catch on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra peace of mind (and to avoid risking your invitations needing to combat the components), never drop them off at an street-side mailbox. If you flip them to a person at the post office right, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you can make certain you’ve done everything properly, from the postage to the writing of the speeches. This is an especially important step if you are using classic stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office conduct the invitations through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines in the upper right corner and may damage the envelope in the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means that they will use a unique ink stamp to indicate your invitation, and they’ll sort it by hand, lowering the risk of this harm. While some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop during a slow time.
