Here are just 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you order your invitations or print them out, ensure you have your wedding venue and date supported, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure your guests may contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts will allow you to plan your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them with your wedding invitations will help save you time and money.

After spending a few months working on your own mind, you likely feel as if you know what there is to know about these paper goods. However, before you head to the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a couple of significant thing that you want to consider that may have never crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are a few steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts aren’t only for good looks.

Whilst placing tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may boost your costs, it also helps prevent the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink onto your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way through the email. When it is not too late, add a bit of tissue paper to ensure your pretty paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

As a result of strange form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a huge monetary difference (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the dimensions) you can easily cut a couple of extra bucks by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find different ways to save your invitations, opt for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a conventional mail-in response card, even since the cost of a postcard stamp is under a normal stamp.

3. Never lick on the glue to close your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your prized invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes using adhesive or some other super strong adhesive. Licking is not only hard in your own mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also does not ensure the package will arrive in one piece. For a fairly touch, add a sticker or piece of washi tape, however, don’t rely on these things as the main closure method. They could fall off or catch on other things during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For extra reassurance (and to avoid risking your invitations having to combat the components), never lose them off in an street-side mailbox. Should you hand them to someone in the post office directly, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to ensure you’ve done everything properly, from the postage into the composing of the speeches. This is a particularly important step if you are using classic stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Instead of letting the post office conduct the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the top right corner and may damage the envelope at the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means they’ll use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will sort it by hand, lowering the danger of the damage. Whenever some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop in during a slow time.
