Here are just 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Date: Before you purchase your invitations or print them out, make sure that you have your wedding venue and date confirmed, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure that your guests may contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests numbers will allow you to organize your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them with your wedding invitations can save you money and time.

After having a couple of months working on your stationery, you likely feel like you know everything there is to learn about those paper products. However, before you head into the post office to send your invitations out, there are a couple of significant thing you want to consider that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are five steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for good looks.

Whilst putting tissue paper between the layers of the stationery suite can increase your prices, in addition, it can help stop the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way through the email. If it’s not too late, then add a little tissue paper to make sure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations need more postage.

As a result of strange shape, square envelopes require more postage to mail. While this isn’t a massive monetary gap (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the size) you can certainly cut a couple of extra dollars by opting for a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find different ways to save on your invitations, then opt for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even as the cost of a postcard is under a standard postage.

3. Never lick the glue to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your prized invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes using glue or some other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard in your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t ensure that the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, add a sticker or part of washi tape, but don’t rely on these things as the most important closure approach. They could fall off or catch on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards within the post office.

For extra peace of mind (and also to avoid risking your invitations needing to battle the components), never lose them off in an street-side mailbox. Should you flip them to someone at the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to make certain you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp into the writing of the addresses. This is an especially important step if you’re using classic stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Instead of allowing the post office conduct the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and may damage the envelope in the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means they’ll use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will type it by hand, lowering the risk of the harm. While some post offices refuse to do this, most are elastic should you pop during a slow time.
