Listed below are just 3 wedding invitation tips every couple should follow to be sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, make sure that you have your wedding site and date supported, to avoid shifting all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure your guests may contact you by telephone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts can allow you to plan your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them along with your wedding invitations can save you time and money.

After spending a couple of months working on your own mind, you likely feel as if you know what there is to know about those paper products. But before you go into the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a couple of major thing you need to take into account that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are five steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for good looks.

While putting tissue paper between the layers of the stationery suite can increase your prices, it also helps stop the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink onto your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together as they make their way via the email. When it is not too late, add a little tissue paper to make sure your reasonably paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations need more postage.

As a result of abnormal shape, square envelopes need more postage to mail. Even though this isn’t a massive monetary difference (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the dimensions) you can certainly cut a couple of extra bucks by opting for a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save on your invitations, then elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even as the price of a postcard stamp is under a standard postage.

3. Never lick the glue to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your precious invites open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes by using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking is not only hard in your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also does not guarantee the package will arrive in one piece. To get a fairly touch, add a sticker or piece of washi tape, however, don’t rely on those things as the most important closure approach. They could fall off or grab on other things during delivery.

4. Always take your cards inside the post office.

For additional reassurance (and to avoid risking your invitations needing to battle the elements), never lose them off at a street-side mailbox. Should you flip them to someone at the post office directly, they are not as likely to get damaged in transit, and you can ensure you’ve done everything correctly, from the postage into the writing of the speeches. This is a particularly important step if you’re using classic stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office run the invitations through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines in the upper right corner and might damage the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they will use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they’ll type it by hand, lowering the danger of this damage. While some post offices refuse to do this, most are elastic if you pop in during a slow time.
