Listed below are 3 wedding invitation tips every couple should follow to be sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you order your own invitations or print them out, ensure that you have your wedding site and date supported, to avoid changing all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure that your guests can contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests numbers will help you plan your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them with your wedding invitations can save you time and money.

After spending a few months working on your own stationery, you probably feel like you know everything there is to know about those paper products. But before you go into the post office to ship your invitations out, there are a few significant thing that you need to take into account that may have never crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are five things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts aren’t just for good looks.

Whilst placing tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may increase your costs, in addition, it can help prevent the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together because they make their way through the email. If it is not too late, then add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the strange shape, square envelopes need more postage to mail. While this isn’t a huge monetary gap (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the size) you can certainly cut a few extra dollars by opting for a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save your invitations, then opt for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a traditional mail-in response card, as the price of a postcard stamp is under a standard stamp.

3. Never lick the glue to shut your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your precious invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes by using adhesive or some other super strong adhesive. Licking is not only hard in your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also does not guarantee the package will arrive in 1 piece. To get a pretty touch, add a sticker or part of washi tape, however, don’t rely on these things as the most important closure approach. They can fall off or grab on other things during delivery.

4. Always take your cards within the post office.

For additional peace of mind (and also to avoid risking your invitations having to combat the components), never drop them off at an street-side mailbox. If you hand them to someone in the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to ensure you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp to the writing of the speeches. This is an especially important step if you’re using classic stamps — they could be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office conduct the invitations through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and might damage the envelope at the process) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they’ll use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will sort it by hand, lowering the danger of the harm. Whenever some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop during a slow moment.
