Listed below are just 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to be sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Date: Before you purchase your invitations or print them out, make sure that you have your wedding site and date confirmed, to avoid shifting all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure that your guests can contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests numbers can allow you to organize your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them along with your wedding invitations will save you time and money.

After having a few months working on your mind, you probably feel like you know what there is to learn about these paper products. However, before you go into the post office to send out your invitations, there are a few major thing you want to consider that may have not crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are a few steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for great looks.

Whilst placing tissue paper between the layers of your stationery suite can increase your prices, in addition, it can help stop the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together because they make their way via the email. If it is not too late, add a little tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the strange shape, square envelopes require more postage to mail. While this isn’t a huge monetary difference (roughly 20 cents per card, depending on the size) you can easily cut a couple of extra dollars by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find other ways to save on your invitations, then opt for an RSVP postcard as opposed to a traditional mail-in response card, even as the cost of a postcard is under a standard postage.

3. Never lick on the adhesive to shut your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your prized invitations open en route, reinforce the closure method on your envelopes by using glue or some other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t only hard in your mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also does not guarantee the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, include a sticker or part of washi tape, however, don’t rely on these things as the most important closure method. They could fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards within the post office.

For extra reassurance (and also to avoid risking your invitations having to battle the elements), never drop them off in a street-side mailbox. If you flip them to a person at the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you can make certain you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp to the composing of the addresses. This is a particularly important step if you’re using vintage stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office conduct the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the top right corner and may damage the envelope at the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. This means that they’ll use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will type it by hand, reducing the danger of this damage. Whenever some post offices refuse to do this, most are elastic if you pop during a slow moment.
