Listed below are 3 wedding invitation tips every few should follow to make sure they deliver the perfect invitations:

1. Confirm Your Wedding Date: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, ensure that you have your wedding site and date confirmed, to avoid shifting all of the invitations.

2. RSVP: Ensure that your guests can contact you by phone, email, or post. Knowing your guests amounts will allow you to organize your wedding more clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards to your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but purchasing them along with your wedding invitations will help save you time and money.

After having a couple of months working on your stationery, you probably feel like you know everything there is to learn about those paper products. However, before you head to the post office to ship out your invitations, there are a couple of major thing you need to take into account that may have not crossed your mind. Thus, without further ado, here are a few steps to take to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts aren’t just for great looks.

Whilst putting tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may boost your prices, in addition, it helps prevent the ink from smudging. If you opted to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards may rub together as they make their way via the email. If it’s not too late, then add a little tissue paper to ensure your pretty paper arrives in pristine form.

2. Square invitations need more postage.

Due to the abnormal form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. While this isn’t a massive monetary gap (about 20 cents per card, depending on the dimensions) you can certainly cut a couple of additional dollars by opting for a regular ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re trying to find different ways to save your invitations, then elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even since the price of a postcard is less than a normal stamp.

3. Never lick the adhesive to close your envelopes.

To prevent having one of your prized invites open en route, fortify the final method in your envelopes by using glue or some other super strong adhesive. Licking isn’t just hard in your mouth (the flavor! Paper cuts!) , it also doesn’t ensure the package will arrive in 1 piece. For a fairly touch, add a sticker or piece of washi tape, but do not rely on those things as the main closure approach. They could fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards within the post office.

For additional reassurance (and to avoid risking your invitations having to battle the components), never lose them off at an street-side mailbox. If you hand them to someone at the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to ensure you’ve done everything correctly, from the postage into the writing of the speeches. This is a particularly important step if you are using classic stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your stamps.

Rather than letting the post office run the invitations through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines at the upper right corner and might harm the envelope in the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows that they will use a special ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they’ll sort it by hand, reducing the risk of this harm. Whenever some post offices refuse to try it, most are elastic if you pop during a slow time.
