Listed below are 3 wedding invitation hints every couple should follow to make sure they send the perfect invitations:

1. Verify Your Wedding Day: Before you purchase your own invitations or print them out, ensure that you have your wedding site and date confirmed, to avoid changing all the invitations.

2. RSVP: Make sure your guests may contact you by phone, email, or article. Knowing your guests amounts can allow you to organize your wedding clearly.

3. Print Thank You Cards: Not only sending thank you cards for your guests for attending is a sweet gesture, but ordering them along with your wedding invitations can save you time and money.

After spending a few months working on your mind, you probably feel as if you know everything there is to learn about those paper products. But before you head into the post office to send your invitations out, there are a couple of significant thing you need to consider that may have not crossed your mind. So, without further ado, here are five things to do to make the most of your mailing.

1. Tissue paper inserts are not just for good looks.

While putting tissue paper between the layers of your stationery package may boost your prices, it also can help prevent the ink from smudging. If you chose to use a darker colored ink on your own invitations or you went with thermography, your cards could rub together because they make their way through the email. When it’s not too late, then add a bit of tissue paper to make sure your pretty paper arrives in pristine shape.

2. Square invitations require more postage.

Due to the abnormal form, square envelopes need more postage to mail. While this isn’t a massive monetary gap (about 20 cents per cent, depending on the size) you can certainly cut a few extra bucks by deciding on a normal ol’ rectangular envelope. If you’re looking for different ways to save your invitations, elect for an RSVP postcard rather than a conventional mail-in response card, even as the cost of a postcard is under a standard stamp.

3. Never lick on the glue to close your envelopes.

To avoid having one of your prized invites open en route, reinforce the closure method in your envelopes by using adhesive or any other super strong adhesive. Licking is not just hard in your own mouth (the taste! Paper cuts!) , it also does not ensure that the package will arrive in 1 piece. To get a pretty touch, include a sticker or piece of washi tape, however, do not rely on these things as the most important closure method. They could fall off or grab on other items during delivery.

4. Always take your cards within the post office.

For additional peace of mind (and also to avoid risking your invitations needing to battle the elements), never lose them off at a street-side mailbox. Should you hand them to someone at the post office directly, they are less likely to get damaged in transit, and you’ll be able to make certain you’ve done everything properly, from the stamp into the writing of the addresses. This is an especially important step if you’re using classic stamps — they can be tricky!

5. Ask the post office to hand cancel your own stamps.

Rather than allowing the post office run the invites through a machine-operated sorting system (which marks the envelope with thick lines in the upper right corner and may harm the envelope in the procedure) ,ask them to “hand cancel” your invitations. It follows they will use a unique ink stamp to mark your invitation, and they will type it by hand, lowering the risk of the damage. While some post offices refuse to do this, most are flexible should you pop in during a slow time.
